PROJECT
DESCRIPTION

In addition to our traditional real estate development pursuits, Jacoby Development has also completed multiple projects related to alternative energy development and the reclamation of mining and quarry sites. These endeavors have included:

AZALEA SOLAR,
WASHINGTON COUNTRY, GEORGIA

The Azalea Solar project is a 10-megawatt solar photovoltaic generation facility located on an 80-acre site in Washington County, Georgia that was developed by Jacoby Development and its partner Smart Energy Capital, LLC. Upon its completion in 2013, Azalea Solar was the largest utility-scale solar photovoltaic facility in Georgia. The project was sold to Dominion Resources after its completion.

LIVE OAK LANDFILL,
ATLANTA, GEORGIA

Jacoby Development led a team which included Waste Management, DeKalb County, and Atlanta Gas Light Company to develop a $30 million landfill- gas-to-pipeline quality bio methane project. The project is one of only two high-BTU landfill gas projects in the state of Georgia and is amongst the largest of the 40 such projects that have been developed in the US. The project’s success is highlighted in its ability to generate enough bio methane to power 30,000 homes. The site was sold to Air Liquide in 2012.

WHITEMARSH,
MARYLAND

Jacoby Development acquired and reclaimed this 196-acre sand and gravel mine in an industrial area along Interstate 95 east of Baltimore. The land reclamation effort includes the remediation of Whitemarsh Run, a once polluted stream. Jacoby has sold parcels to multiple end users, including a General Motors assembly plant, a FedEx distribution facility, Hotel and Bank Office.

TEXAS STATION,
TIMONIUM, MARYLAND

Jacoby Development reclaimed this former limestone quarry in suburban Baltimore and subsequently redeveloped it as a multi-use development. The retail component is anchored by Sam’s Club and Lowe’s, and the site contains additional office, hotel, and retail outparcels.
